A Note from Your AMS
This winter has been colder than recent years, with several days of snow and ice. I’m not a fan of icy conditions or temperatures below twenty degrees. Thankfully, most of the cold weather is behind us and spring is on the horizon.
Recently I read Matthew 22:37–38, where Jesus answers the question of the greatest commandment. He quotes Deuteronomy 6:5:
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.”
That passage led me to reflect on my own life. Has my love for God grown cold like winter snow and ice, or is it burning with passion for the Lord of the universe and the Savior of my soul? If we are honest, many believers struggle with loving God fully in heart, soul, and mind. My prayer is that God continues to show us His mercy and develops within us a deep passion to love Him supremely.
Across the association, our ministry teams are actively serving.
The Leadership Team has been planning training opportunities for church leaders. On March 28, a Children’s Ministry Training will take place at First Baptist Church Somerset from 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM.
The Evangelism Team is organizing additional training opportunities for churches. On April 30, they will host an Evangelism Toolbox Training with Jason Hay, Evangelism Consultant for the Kentucky Baptist Convention. They are also planning an Apologetics event for youth later this August.
The Missions Team will soon begin preparations for Kentucky Changers, which our association will host the week of June 27, 2027.
The Revitalization Team is preparing to meet with the pastor of a church that has requested assistance with a revitalization process.
Finally, the Building Team is working diligently to finalize drawings for our new building and obtain contractor bids. We hope to present a recommendation during the Executive Board Meeting on March 10 at Rock Lick Baptist Church.
Please note that the meal begins at 6:00 PM, and the meeting will begin at 6:30 PM.
In Christ,
Bro. Tommy
