January 2026 Newsletter

A Note From Your AMS

I trust 2026 has started off well for everyone and that your heart is full of eager anticipation for what God has purposed for your life this year. The new year is a clean slate, a fresh start, and perhaps a new beginning to greater things the Lord has planned for you.

The Bible speaks often about new things. In 2 Corinthians 5:17, the Apostle Paul penned these words:

“Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

This passage speaks of the glorious transformation the Holy Spirit brings to the heart and life of a new believer in Christ. Once a person accepts Christ through faith, God replaces their old thoughts with new thoughts, their old habits with new habits, and their old perceptions of God with new perceptions. I still remember the evening God transformed my life. All my priorities changed that evening, and I went from being an enemy of God to being His child and His friend.

Not only do things become new at our rebirth, but when Jesus returns, He will make all things new. The Apostle John wrote in Revelation 21 that there will be a new heaven and a new earth and a New Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God. John goes on to write that God spoke in verse five saying, “Behold, I make all things new.”

There is coming a time when everything will be made new. There will be a new place for God’s people to live, a new world order, and a new way of life. Verse four describes a place of ultimate peace:

“God will wipe every tear from their eyes; there will be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There will be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

What a glorious day that will be.

Speaking of new things, our Building Team has been working diligently to develop drawings for our new building. At the Executive Board meeting on January 13 at Calvary Baptist Church, they shared a rough draft of the building. Anyone who would like to is welcome to come by the office to see what the Building Team has been working on. They have done well.

There are still a few things that may change, but the plans are approximately 90–95% complete, pending final cost alignment with our budget.

I have seen many New Years come and go in my lifetime, and with each passing one I am grateful for God’s mercy and grace. I am excited to see what God will do in and through the Lake Cumberland Baptist Association this year.

Happy New Year,
Bro. Tommy

“Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well.”
— 1 Thessalonians 2:8

I would like to thank all the churches that participated in the Christmas Backpack/Angel Tree mission project. We were able to give backpacks filled with hygiene items, school supplies, and other necessities, along with a new outfit for each child and toys that parents could use as Christmas presents.

We also provided food and additional items for parents, but the best part was being able to share Jesus with everyone. If your church does not currently participate, I encourage you to contact Jeremy Cole, M25 Missionary, so he can help get you connected for next year.
