A Note From Your AMS
The Lord has truly blessed us with a beautiful Autumn! The leaves were gorgeous, and the temperature has been unbelievably warm for this time of year. Unlike other years where it turned almost instantaneous from summer to winter, this year God has given us beautiful Fall.
We have so much to be thankful this time of year. Cece Winans sings a song entitled “Goodness of God” which has become my favorite contemporary song. The song speaks of God’s mercy that never fails. In fact, Lamentations chapter three says that God makes His mercies new every morning. So, every day God renews His mercy toward His Children! Just for that fact alone gives us reason to give God thanksgiving.
The song goes on to talk about God holding His children in His hands. Being held in the father’s hands is indicative of His protection and security. God will never allow His children to fall prey to the enemy. John 10:28 says, “I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.” A genuine born-again believer is eternally secure in our Heavenly Father’s hands! Another reason for us to give God thanks.
The chorus to “Goodness of God” talks of God’s faithfulness and goodness. Psalm Twenty-three portrays a beautiful picture of God’s faithfulness in His provision to His sheep as the Great Shepherd. The Psalm concludes by King David proclaiming that God’s goodness and mercy shall follow him all the days of his life. We too, like King David can give thanks to God for his faithfulness and goodness! I shudder to think what my life would have been without them.
The second verse of “Goodness of God” speaks to God’s guidance through the hard, dark times of life. During those times God sticks close like no other. In fact, Proverbs 18:24 tells us that “there is a friend that sticks closer than a brother.” God is dependable! He will never leave us or forsake as the Book of Hebrews tells us. And it is through those hard- dark periods of our lives that we come to know God more intimately than we ever have. We are compelled then to give God thanks for His presence and continued guidance in our lives.
God has been faithful all my life and He has been so good to me! So, as the chorus of that song says, “with every breathe that I am able, I will sing of the goodness of God. Thank you, Lord, for being so good to me!
By His Grace,
Bro. Tommy
WMU Corner
Our Mission is to inform and inspire Christians to influence their world for CHRIST.
As we begin thinking about reaching the next generation for Christ, I would like to encourage each of you to bring a daughter, granddaughter or a young lady with you as you attend any of our upcoming events. It is time that we look to the future. By doing so, we must reach out and demonstrate to them the importance of sharing the gospel to everyone we meet. I can’t wait to see how God is going to use us to reach this generation.
Watchword
Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well.
