A NOTE FROM YOUR AMS

I can hardly believe that it’s already September! My how this year is flying by. In just a few short months
the cold dreariness of winter will be here. On a positive note, we’re getting closer to an endless eternity with Christ with each passing day, month and year.

Speaking of winter, I am leaving for Chile in South America tomorrow September 4th and will return on September 11 th. Presently, all the countries in the southern hemisphere are experiencing winter. Winter down there is comparable to Spring here in Kentucky. Daytime highs will be in the 70’s and the nighttime low’s will be in the upper 40’s to the lower 50’s. That type of weather is my kind of weather!
The Kentucky Baptist Convention Mission Team has recently partnered with the Chilean Baptist Convention to minister to the people in Santiago, Chile. The team leaving tomorrow is a Vision Team consisting of pastors and Associational Mission Strategists from across the state who are going to see what ministry their churches and associations can become involved in there. Please pray for our safety as well as for the leadership of the Holy Spirit as to what, if any ministry our association can partner with there.

This Thursday evening at Beacon Hill Baptist Church the Kentucky Baptist Convention will be conducting the Equip tour. “Equip will be covering training in each of the following areas: Children’s Ministry, Church Communications, Deacon Ministry, Evangelism, Finance, Men’s Discipleship, Missions, Revitalization, Students, Sunday School, WMU, Women’s Ministry, and Worship and Music.” Registration begins at 5:00pm Dinner will be served at 6:00 pm and the Opening Session begins at 6:30 pm. You can either register online at kybaptist.org/equip or at the event. Cost is $15.00 per person with a maximum of $75.00 per church. The Equip training is a top-of-the-line training which I would recommend all our churches to attend.

Let me finish with the Word of God from the six chapter of the Book of Ephesians verses ten and eleven; “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” As we each serve God in our respected places of service, let’s remember that we are powerless without the Lord. Let’s also remember that our enemy has already been defeated and that as Christians we don’t fight for victory, but from victory! May you be blessed as you serve in Jesus’ name!
