November 2025 Newsletter

A Note from Your AMS

November has arrived, and with it comes colder weather. The older I get, the less I seem to tolerate the cold. My ideal climate would be seventy-five degrees year-round with just enough rain to keep the gardens and yards green. I don’t know of any place like that, but it doesn’t hurt to dream!

Even so, I am reminded of Ephesians 5:20:

“Giving thanks always for all things unto God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Although colder weather is on the way, I will continue to give praise and thanksgiving to God the Father.

Paul’s instruction to the church at Ephesus was to give thanks to God always — for all things. That means we, as believers, are called to offer thanks in both the good and the difficult seasons. I’ll admit, it’s much easier to praise God on the mountaintops than in the valleys. But as I grow older, I’m learning that God works through both. I may not recognize His purpose in the moment, but I often see it more clearly once He has brought me through.

God never wastes an opportunity to shape us to be more like Christ. Romans 8:28 reminds us:

“All things work together for good to those who love God.”

As we enter this season of thanksgiving, let’s thank God for all things — the joyful and the challenging.

I am also grateful for the blessings we experienced during our annual meeting on October 12th. I believe it was one of the best meetings we’ve had in my nine years in this position. The worship, unity, music from the OBI choir, the message from Dr. Charlie Goodman, and the IMB missionary testimony were all tremendously encouraging. Many commented on how well the venue and sound worked this year — I completely agree. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

We are still waiting to receive payment from Baxter’s for the land, but I was recently told it should be coming soon. Once that happens, we will begin the process of purchasing the property on Creek Terrace. Please keep our building team in your prayers as they begin important work — praying that there will be unity and clear direction as recommendations are made for the future building plan.

I pray that you and your family have a blessed Thanksgiving season and that God provides richly in your life.

With Thanksgiving,
Bro. Tommy
